The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA) uses the visual arts as a point of departure for exploring new artistic production across a variety of disciplines. In addition to curatorial projects at the main gallery in Brooklyn, New York, the museum’s off-site satellite exhibitions, youth arts programs, film production, and a growing collection of digital content make MoCADA both a local and global institution that challenges the traditional boundaries of a museum. Through exhibitions and programming, MoCADA incites dialogue on pressing social and political issues facing the African Diaspora, and fosters a dynamic space for the creation and continuous evolution of culture.

MoCADA was founded in 1999 with the mission of strengthening the artistic and cultural fabric of Brooklyn’s local African Diaspora communities. Thirteen years later, MoCADA continues to grow, and the new MoCADA Mobile App brings the museum right to your fingertips. Browse images and learn about exhibitions at MoCADA, connect with the museum on Facebook and Twitter, find out about upcoming events, watch episodes of MoCADA TV, and plan your next visit to the museum.
